ASSIGNMENT: How does the internet mediate the cultural
practice of female 'circumcision' to the online world?
You're an ethnographer whose only immediate source of information on the practice of FGM is the internet. Do some web exploring in search of pages on FGM (female genital mutilation, female genital cutting, female circumcision), dowload a few pages, and annotate them. Take notes not only on the content of the site but also on the way the site presents the information, and on your own reactions to both the site and what you learn.
