Reflections on the course so far (and your part in it)
Please write your thoughts about each of the following questions.
1. So far you have undertaken several different kinds of assignments: an essay on a single theoretical reading, a reading log on your adopt-a-book, daily talking points, and a midterm. You've served as a peer reviewer for a prewriting. Some of you have facilitated discussions of readings and written follow-up essays. Comment on your involvement with these assignments. Note especially any instances in which you felt you were able to stretch yourself as a writer or thinker.
2. The in-class activities have varied, from peer facilitated discussions to instructor lectures to round-robin dialogues to small group brainstorming sessions. Which of these activities have you found most compatible with your own learning style? Which seem to you most effective in involving all class members? Which activities would you like us to do more (or less) of during the last half of the semester?
3. Take a minute to review the Discussion guidelines that were developed at the beginning of the semester. Overall, how well do you think we've done in fulfilling these guidelines? How (if at all) would you revise these guidelines at this point in the course?
4. Looking back, what aspect of your own role as a member of the class are you happiest about? How (if at all) would you like to change your participation in the later part of the semester?
5. Given the difficulty of the course material, when have you felt that you really got feminist theory in a new way? Is there a moment that you'd like to highlight and celebrate in your experience of the course so far? What have we done right as a group?
6. What one question would you most like me (or others in the class) to respond to at this stage in the course?
