Slesinger, Larry--Chapter 6: Establishing and Cultivating Your Network

This chapter discusses in length the need of building a community of people you know that are relevant in your career path, and how and why to network.   Slesinger says that a network can identify openings that might interest you, put in a good word on your behalf, provide intelligence about potential opportunities, and keep your spirits up.   The chapter discusses how to begin creating a network to help you find a job, find a better job, and stay connected throughout your career.   This article, it seems, is the most helpful to everyone in Feminism in the Workplace that does not have a well-defined career path, or is just still having trouble finding a job they like. -K.G.
